Artikelnummer:113429605896Antique Perry & Co New Economist Sad Iron Stove Heater WIth Mica Late 1800s Click image to enlarge Description Offered for your consideration is an antique sad iron stove or heater. Made by Perry & Company, who had locations is Albany, Chicago and New York. From, we would guess, the late 1800s, these heaters were used predominantly to heat sad irons or flat iron used for ironing clothes. Since a lot of homes had no electricity, this heater ran off of kerosene. It is in good to very good 'as found' condition. The adjuster for the wick still turns and the wick does raise and lower. There is a cork in the refill hole for fuel, which appears to have been in place for many years. The stove still opens and closes smoothly. The mica window is still present and free of breaks. Overall, the stove/heater does show use and handling wear and some surface rust. It stands 9" tall and has a base that measures 5 1/2" x 3 1/2". It weighs 5 pounds 4 ounces and will have a shipping weight of 7 pounds 6 ounces as it will be double boxed for protection. A large flat rate box is one option for shipping at the cost of $18.90. A great addition for the vintage sad iron collection. Auctions can be combined to save on shipping. Thank you for viewing our listing. Payment Thank you for your purchase.
